Hundreds of Members Of Parliment joined with the Charity Diabetes UK this week to to call the Prime Minister to improve the the care for people with diabetes.
It has recomended that Opticians in the UK become involved in the screening and monitoring of diabetic retinopathy within a national screening programme. More that half of all MP's supported the call and highlighted the fact that too many people were being diagnosed too late for effective treatment to take place.
